About
Meet Terra Crowl
Hello. Glad you’re here! I’m Terra Crowl, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #129821) based in the Bay Area, specializing in working with couples in distress, burnt-out high-achievers, and anxious individuals overcoming trauma. My degrees include a Master of Social Work, Master of Science in Political Science Research, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I’m currently undergoing certification in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), and have training in several other modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I have nearly eight years of direct clinical experience across child welfare, school-based counseling, and integrated behavioral health settings. I’ve developed and led bilingual (English and Spanish) support groups for healthy relationships, grief, anxiety and depression.
My work is rooted in a deep commitment to helping people build safer, more connected relationships with their partners, their families, and within themselves. Overcoming my own childhood emotional neglect, and navigating family members’ mental health struggles have cultivated my deep empathy, attentiveness and drive to support healing on this planet. I am passionate about supporting my client’s right to an aligned, fulfilled life. Through deep self-love and acceptance work, we can create a space where we can process your emotional experience in the service of optimizing your personal, professional and relational lives. This is the work I was put on this planet to do! In my free time you will see me engaging in Buddhist Psychology, dancing at a local Ecstatic Dance event, spending time with my family, or performing on stage with other dancers. Looking forward to working together.

Is This For Me?
Anxious and burnt out
You’re running on fumes. You drag yourself out of bed, moving through the day on autopilot: packing lunches, answering emails, managing not only your full schedule, but everyone else’s. Somewhere between the kids, the spouse, the job, and the endless mental checklist, you stopped noticing what you need, let alone what you want. You’re operating in overdrive, and even when things are technically “fine,” you feel disconnected from your own life. You catch yourself wondering: when did I switch from a human being to a human doing? If you’re exhausted in a way that sleep doesn’t fix, and you can’t remember the last time you felt like yourself, it’s time to rediscover who you are.
Relationship distress
Maybe it’s your relationship that’s aching. Perhaps you’ve lost the spark you once had together. That ease, that pull toward each other. Maybe you’re worn down by the frustration of not being heard, of feeling taken for granted, dismissed, or unwanted. Maybe something happened. A death in the family, a betrayal, a divorce, a health crisis, and now everything feels unfamiliar, like the ground shifted and you’re both still finding your footing. You’re not sure how to get back to a place where you feel safe again. Wherever you’re starting from, I’m here to tell you that you’re in the right place and there is a path forward. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their relationships, and not only can that safety be rebuilt, but it can be reinforced to be stronger than ever before.
Compulsive sexual and romantic behavior
It feels like you don’t have a choice in the situation. The late-night scrolling, constantly checking your messages, chasing after the relationship or the fantasy that promises to finally fill the emptiness, and never quite does. Maybe you’ve made promises to yourself that you’ve broken more times than you can count. Maybe you’re living a double life, or close to it, and the shame of that gap between who you want to be and how you’re actually behaving is eating you alive. You tell yourself you’ll stop, that this time will be different, and then the urge shows up again, louder, more convincing than your own resolve. Underneath it, there’s often something lingering: loneliness, a wound from long ago, a nervous system that learned early on to look for relief anywhere it could find it. You don’t have to keep white-knuckling this alone, and you don’t have to be defined by the shame and guilt. Our intentional work can be used to understand what’s actually driving it, and care and accountability can help to find a way through.
